SUMMER SOCCER CAMP SCHEDULED!

PYSL is proud to announce that Commonwealth Soccer Programs will be returning for their 4th year to host, not one, but two summer soccer camps.  The camps will be held on June 14 - 18, 2010 and July 19 - 23, 2010 at the old PYSL Complex.

CSP has been providing soccer instruction to players in Virginia since 1997. As a complete soccer education provider, CSP ensures that every camp is overseen by a full time, professional coaching staff. CSP holds extremely high standards as providers of soccer training, and deliver programs which are both inspirational and educational. Their age and ability appropriate programs are founded on the principles of safety, learning and fun, all while continuing to introduce new innovative ideas.

Here are the camp programs:
Soccer Tots: (Ages 4-6 from 9-12pm) The activities for this camp are geared toward constant and fun activities involving a soccer ball. Instruction will be focused on individual ball control, peer relations and following rules. This is a half-day program.

Players Camp:  (Ages 7-14 from 9-3:30pm) This camp is designed for recreational players who want to increase their skills and knowledge of the game. Activities for these players will be both fun and more instructional in content. Curriculum for this camp includes, but is not limited to, Individual Ball Control, Passing, Shooting, Principles of Possession and Defending. Players at this camp will be grouped by their age and ability. This program is a full-day program.

Fast Footwork/Moves Camp:  (Ages 9-14 from 10-12pm) This program is a high impact and quality oriented.  It is designed for high level recreation or travel players that want to take their games’ to the next level.  Players are taught moves to take on opponents along with fast footwork.  Players will leave more comfortable on the ball, and more confident in their ability to take on defenders.

Goalkeepers/Finishing School: (Ages 12-18 from 9-12pm) This specialized instruction focuses on the art of striking the ball and scoring goals.  Goalkeepers will receive high quality special instruction on what goes through a forward’s mind and how to anticipate their actions.  Fields players will be pitted against goalkeepers to improve skills on both sides of the ball.

Please make plans for your child to attend this camp when marking your calendar for this summer. Co-Directors, Steve Lovgren and Shawn Martin have been involved in soccer for many years now and have a huge amount of experience teaching children the game of soccer.
