Skill Builder: Scissors!

Building on some of the basic touches we're worked on in training players should move on to this basic but very effective feint.  The move has two basic part, a step over from inside to out to fake direction then a touch into the opposite direction.

The step over move is awkward to learn at first.  A good place to start is working on just the step over with a stationary ball using one foot then the other.  Work slow then pick up the pace when the move is comfortable.  Next incorporate the touch away with a stationary ball.

The last skill progression is to attempt the scissors on the dribble.  With ten minutes of good work a day your player will quickly add this feint to their game.
