PYSL Club Policies

General Guidelines

  • No requests for a specific team or coach can be accepted

  • Players can not be assigned to a specific team for ride arrangements.

  • All players, returning and new, will be placed on teams through a blind draft procedure, with every attempt made to keep the child grouped with players from the same school.  PYSL can not guarantee that every player will be placed on a team with children from the same school.  All players are assigned to new teams in the Fall, while players remain on the same teams in the Spring.

  • Players registering late will not be guaranteed placement on the same team as the previous season.

  • PYSL provides soccer jerseys, shorts, and socks which must be worn in all games.

  • Shinguards are to be worn under socks only, and are mandatory during every PYSL contest.  Parents are responsible for providing shinguards for players.  Cleats are recommended but not required, and tennis shoes may be worn at the referee’s discretion.

  • There is absolutely no smoking or alcoholic beverages allowed at the Old PYSL Complex or Smith River Complex at any time.

Code of Conduct

  • All parents, players, coaches and spectators are expected to behave in an appropriate manner at all times.  Anyone acting in an inappropriate manner can be dismissed from PYSL by the Board of Directors.

  • Parents are not to be on the team side of the field, unless they have completed a Kidsafe application.

  • Only two (2) coaches are allowed on the team side of the field during the games.

  • PYSL will not accept any verbal or physical abuse of referees during or after the games.  Referees have total control over all games, and anyone showing disrespect toward any referee will be asked to leave the field.

All players, parents, coaches, spectators, referees, and PYSL Staff members are expected to know and understand the General Guidelines and Code of Conduct outlined above.  Anyone found in conflict with PYSL club policies runs the risk of disciplinary action.
