GENERAL GUIDELINES
- No scores or standings will be kept, as this is a developmental age and play is for instruction and fun only.
- Substitutions are to be made between quarters only unless injury or illness occurs.
- All players are to play both offensive and defensive positions.
- There will be one referee officiating the game, with no coaches on the field. The coach and assistant coach are allowed to be on the sideline, but no coaches or parents should be behind either goal.
- If a team does not have enough players, the opposing team can loan players to the opposing team so the game can go on as scheduled. These games are for fun, and this situation will allow the players more playing time on the field.
Game Playing Guidelines
- NO SLIDE TACKLING, AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, PUSHING OR ELBOWING. Coaches should encourage, and enforce, positive and fair play. A coach should substitute a child and give the child a chance to calm down should the need arise.
- THROW INS – The ball should be held with both hands and should come over and behind the head. When a player throws the ball in, they should be outside of the lines on the field, and both feet should be on the ground when the ball is thrown. If an improper throw occurs, the child should be taught the correct form and allowed to throw again.
- There are NO OFFSIDES.
- GOAL KICK – The defending players must stand at least four yards away from the ball until it is in play. The ball is in play once it has left the goal area.
- CORNER KICK – The defending players must stand at least four yards away from the ball until it is in play.
- FREE KICKS - All kicks shall be direct, to keep the game flowing and keep the childrens’ attention.
