GENERAL GUIDELINES
- No scores or standings will be kept, as this is a developmental age and play is for instruction and fun only.
- Substitutions are to be made during throw-ins, goal kicks, injury stoppages, and halftime.
- All players are to play both offensive and defensive positions.
- There will be 2-3 referees officiating the game, with no coaches on the field.
- If a team does not have enough players, the opposing team can loan players to the opposing team so the game can go on as scheduled. These games are for fun, and this situation will allow the players more playing time on the field.
Game Playing Guidelines
- NO SLIDE TACKLING, AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, PUSHING OR ELBOWING. Coaches should encourage, and enforce, positive and fair play. A coach should substitute a child and give the child a chance to calm down should the need arise.
- THROW-INS – The ball should be held with both hands and should come over and from behind the head. When a player throws the ball in, both feet should be on the ground, either on or behind the sideline when the ball is thrown. If an improper throw occurs, the child should be taught the correct form and allowed to throw again.
- The OFFSIDES rule is in effect.
- GOAL KICK – The ball is in play once it has left the goal area.
- CORNER KICK – The defending players must stand at least six yards away from the ball until it is in play.
- FREE KICKS - All kicks shall be direct, to keep the game flowing and keep the children’s attention.
